Hillfe für Flutopfer auf Lombok
Längst vergessen und kaum von den Medien beachtet wurde die Flut vom 24.Januar 2006 auf Lombok. Auch hier gab es Tote und Verletzte. Häuser und Existenzgrundlagen wurden binnen kürzester Zeit zerstört.
Erste Schadensübersicht:
The total damages according to the data we got from the Kepala Desa (Chief of Village) of Sembalun Bumbung are as follows:
1. Houses:
- 7 units are totally damaged (non-repairable)
- 24 units heavily damaged
2. Death, injured and missing persons:
- Death: 2 persons
- Missing: 1 person (12 years)
- Injured: 50 persons
3. Infrastructures:
- Rice fields: 150 Hectars
- Agriculture Gardens: 50 Hectares
- Drinking Water Supply: 1000 meters.
- Main road access: 700 meters
- Bridge: 1 unit
- Irrigation Chanels: 3 units
Ein erster kleiner Beitrag zur Hilfe konnte durch die FIG-Indonesia und Rinjani Explorer realisiert werden. Für die Hilfe bei der Durchführung bedanken wir uns auch ganz herzlich bei unseren Freunden auf Lombok: Silvia und Saleh, die uns mit Transportmittel und Claudia Fiedler mit Dokumentation zur Seite standen.

DONATION DISTRIBUTION FOR CHILDREN IN SEMBALUN, LOMBOK WHO SUFFERED OF LOMBOK FLASH FLOOD
On Thursday 16 Maret 2006, Mustaal (active member of FIG-Indonesia and also manager of Rinjani Explorer) together with 5 friends: Edy Bakin, Siro, Vebri, Edy Gagap and Claudia Fiedler (traveler originally from Germany who concern about humanitarian activities) drove to Sembalun village using car Pick-Up Kijang (thanks to Silvia dan Saleh in Montong-Lombok who were very kind lent their car). They transported donation consist of school uniforms for 303 students, 173 packs of books, 55 dozen pens, 23 boxes rulers, 12 dozens pencils, 11 pieces kopiah and 72 pieces jilbab. The amount of the donation is 19 million rupiah, the donators are FIG-Indonesia which based in Hamburg, Germany dan in Aceh which donated 17 million rupiah and Rinjani Explorer which based in Sembalun Lawang village which donated 2 million rupiah.
In the morning they prepared the car for service in Mataram because the route to Sembalun village is quite rough and ascending, it’s to make sure the car in very good condition consider the weather was still rainy. At 9.30 they left from Mataram (capital of Lombok) and had lunch in Tanjung area. After lunch they continued and arrived in Sembalun Lawang village at 15.00. They immediately given the donation as symbolist to Head of Sembalun Lawang village and representative of students. In total 163 students will get the donation. After this modest ceremony they proceeded to desa Sembalun Lawang and arrived at 16.00. The donation symbolically given to Head of Sembalun Bumbung village to be given further for 140 students.
The theme of the donation is “Save children victims of flash flood in Sembalun”. The purpose is to help the children in Sembalun village who suffered the flood so that they can continue to study because they lost all of their study material on that catastrophe.
Seeing the latest condition of the damaged villages there, it’s so obvious that they need more help. At the moment, the urgent needs are cements (to repair and rebuild houses) and pipes (for clean water distribution as the pipeline was heavily damaged)
